The Remako mod isn't the only project that is using neural networks to upscale graphics. I wanted to share some other people's projects that I thought were very impressive.
Moguri Mod is a total revamping of the PC port of Final Fantasy IX through machine learning techniques. . The most important changes are in the pre-rendered backgrounds, which are now more detailed, clean & have a higher resolution.
Moguri Mod also includes a custom implementation of Memoria Mod, offering more customization & options over the original game.

REupscale project is a mod that upscales and corrects, using Topaz’s A.I. Gigapixel, the background textures of Resident Evil HD Remaster.
The textures are kept at the same original resolution (1920x1440) but they are obtained by downsampling images twice that resolution. Some textures use the Gamecube original source (~90%) while others are upscaled from the HD Remastered texture (~10%).
The mod is made by Shiryu.

This mod for the Elder Scrolls Morrowind used textures upscaled 4x with ESRGAN technique. Uncompressed textures are used where available, for maximum fidelity.

Whats the ETA on a Final Fantasy 8 HD Backdrop Mod???
Also, has anyone thought of painstakingly running each cell of the FMV Cut Scenes through Ai Gigapixel & piecing them back together to create HD Cut Scenes ;D
